They say rain on your wedding day is good luck, and I’d say Lindsey and Zach are pretty darn lucky to have found one another. With a forecast that was up in the air, we weren’t sure what to expect for their big day, but they rolled with the punches and didn’t let it affect their excitement for the day. We ended up with everything from rain to full sun, and it was the most perfect mix of weather which added a variety to their photos they wouldn’t have had otherwise.
Lindsey and Zach chose Cisco Brewers in Portsmouth, NH as their wedding venue, but wanted their first look to be downtown at the gardens in Prescott Park. We were running a little late as we started getting ready to head to their first look, and we realized it had started raining pretty heavily so we grabbed some clear umbrellas and made the most of it. The rain made for the dreamiest first look in the gardens, and not even 10 minutes later the skies cleared and the sun was shining. We kept saying that the timing all worked out because had we been on time, it would have been raining for the entirety and we wouldn’t have gotten that sunshine for their portraits. I wouldn’t have changed a thing, and I think they would agree.
After their first look, we headed to Cisco Brewers for their ceremony and reception with all of their friends and family. Their day was so special for several reasons, but some of my favorites include: Zach’s reaction when Lindsey was reading her vows, her dad’s speech, Lindsey’s two dresses (which were both just stunning), their pup Stout, and the food (the best BBQ!).
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, It’s never lost on me how lucky I am to capture some of life’s most special milestones for my couples and I’m so glad they trust me to do so!
