As a New England wedding photographer, I’ve had the joy of capturing celebrations in some of the most stunning corners of this region. But estate venues? They hold a special place in my heart. There’s something about historic architecture, sweeping grounds, and timeless charm that elevates a wedding day into something unforgettable—not just for couples, but for their guests, too. Today, I’m sharing three of my absolute favorite estate venues in New England: The Hildene in Vermont, The Crane Estate in Massachusetts, and Glen Manor House in Rhode Island.
The Crane Estate is the kind of venue that makes you feel like you’ve stepped into a European countryside. With its sprawling Great House perched atop a hill, a dramatic half-mile lawn that slopes down to the ocean, and gardens straight out of Bridgerton, (Where are my Bridgerton fans at?!) stunning doesn’t even begin to describe this venue.
The architecture and coastal light make it a dream to photograph—from the getting-ready spaces filled with character to waterfront portraits, the Crane Estate offers variety, grandeur, and that perfect balance of formality and freedom.
The Hildene was my first wedding at an estate, and I instantly fell in love with it. Nestled in the Green Mountains, The Hildene is the former summer home of Abraham Lincoln’s son, Robert Todd Lincoln—and it shows. The property is grand without being overwhelming, and it carries an elegant, understated beauty that’s just so… Vermont. Think formal gardens, rolling hills, and mountain views in every direction.
The gardens offer a fairytale-like backdrop for portraits, and the ceremony backdrop provides 360º mountain views. They also just built Lincoln Hall; A gorgeous reception space with floor to ceiling windows. I had the opportunity to shoot there last summer and loved everything about it!
Hidden away on the banks of the Sakonnet River, Glen Manor House feels like Rhode Island’s best-kept secret. It’s elegant, intimate, and has that old-world French charm—complete with ivy-covered stonework, arched doorways, and a waterfront lawn that glows at sunset.
This year was my first year photographing a wedding here, but I’m hoping it’s not my last.
Each of these estate venues tells a story—and offers a canvas for couples to write their own. Whether you’re dreaming of mountain views, ocean breezes, or ivy-covered elegance, New England has something magical to offer. And for me? Getting to document love stories in these places truly an honor.
If you’re planning your wedding at one of these venues (or dreaming about it), I’d love to hear from you.
