I remember walking away from Alyssa and Connor’s engagement session thinking “Man, that was fun. THEY are fun.” I think we laughed through 90% of their session, and it was so clear that they were perfect for one another. Fast forward a year later, and I had the honor of documenting their Spring wedding at Linekin Bay Resort in Boothbay Harbor, Maine. I had never been to Boothbay Harbor before, and was so excited to experience somewhere new. It did not disappoint! The resort itself sits right on the water and had a camp-like feel, with several cabins and lodging for all of their guests.
Driving up to the wedding, I was a little nervous that Alyssa and Connor might be bummed about the weather forecast. It called for 100% chance of rain, with an outdoor ceremony, and they had really wanted golden hour photos. Once I arrived to photograph the girls getting ready, I saw Alyssa and I could tell immediately that the weather had absolutely no bearing on her mood. She told me they had decided to chance it and have their ceremony outside, even with the impending forecast of rain and said the theme of the day was “Send it!”
Guess what? We made it through their first look, ceremony, and almost all of the photos before it started raining. I think that serves as proof that it’s pointless to stress about rain on your wedding day, because even if it calls for 100% chance of rain – it might hold off! And even if it doesn’t, we’ll still get some great photos regardless.
Alyssa and Connor are two of the most down to earth, easy going, welcoming people and their wedding was a reflection of that. They kept their focus on what your wedding day should be about: Marrying your person, and being present with all of your loved ones. I could not be happier for these two friends, and it was one heck of a way to kick off wedding season! 🤍
